Reunion Information!
Hello to all,
I finally have a schedule for the reunion.
FRIDAY NIGHT: An old fashioned WATKINS cookout.
Bonfire and tall tells--burn ban permitting
SATURDAY MORNING: On your own
SATURDAY LUNCH: 11:30AM at the ranch
12:30-2:30 Square dancing.
(Same place and Thank you Aimee for coming through!)
SATURDAY AFTERNOON and EVENING: Swimming for the kids: Clay shooting:
Fishing Contest: Very small people are encouraged to fish (Need some grand dad help here)Judging will be by contestant height & weight combined with the size of the fish caught! Please bring fishing gear if you have it.
SATURDAY NIGHT: First annual niece and nephew dinner cook off.
SUNDAY MORNING: 10:00AM Farewell brunch before the scatter
Please let your extended families know the schedule.

Watkins Reunion
What a fabulous weekend! We had a great time and are looking for to the next time!
Some were asking me about the recipe for the sopapilla cheesecake! It is posted below!
Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rollsrefrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
Directions
1. Using a 9 x 13 baking pan, unroll one package of refrigerated crescent rolls and line the bottom of the pan.
2. Mix together the cream cheese, sugar and extract.
3. Spread over the crescent rolls.
4. Unroll the other can of crescent rolls and place on top of cream cheese mixture.
5. Pour one stick of melted butter or margarine over the top and sprinkle with about 1/2 cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Reunion Update!!
Hello to everyone.
Here is a schedule of the meals for the reunion:
Friday evening-Thornhill family- fajita's.
Saturday morning breakfast is on your own.
Lunch -11:30am -Miller family and the Holleman's. Sub sandwiches are the plan for now.
Saturday evening - Mike Watkins family and Susan - a cook out.
Sunday morning-Pat's family and the Holleman's. Susan will be making Mom's coffee cakes. Yeah.
Everyone is responsible for their entire meal except for beverages. Preparing and clean up, plates, utensil's etc. is included in the meal. Every family will provide their own beverages and snacks (remember that we had an over supply of those at the last one so maybe cut in half the amount you bring).
The date is less than a month away so if you need a hotel you probably need to contact the Hampton Inn in Abilene and secure your rooms. We have a block under Watkins family reunion. They were holding the rooms until May 25th. We have a fun activity planned for Saturday afternoon. Hope all have a great day.

Reunion Hotel Info

Hello Everyone,
Aunt Aimee and I are in charge of the reunion this summer and wanted to provide information on what we know thus far, so you can plan accordingly.
The dates are June 6th, 7th and 8th, in Abilene. That’s all we know at this time...... We are working on the logistics and specifics and will communicate that information as the event nears. If you think you might need hotel accommodations, we have reserved rooms at the Hampton Inn.
You may call and make a reservation and will be given a discounted rate by mentioning the "Watkins Reunion". Reservations need to be secured by May 26th.
That’s all for now, so mark you calendars and we hope to see you there.
